LG Electronics is gearing up to tap into new growth opportunities by focusing on robotic actuators and business-to-business (B2B) appliances. The company is preparing to fulfill potential large-scale orders from major global technology firms, having developed actuators that are lighter, more efficient, and competitively priced. LG is currently in talks with several prominent tech companies and anticipates finalizing its first significant order in the near future.

Earlier this year, LG introduced its LG Axium actuator brand, leveraging its expertise in motors, drive controls, and component design acquired through its home appliance sector. The company plans to establish a fully automated production line for these actuators at its Changwon facility by year’s end. LG predicts that demand for actuators will rise with the advancement of physical AI and humanoid robotics, particularly around the year 2030. In line with this, LG intends to deploy humanoid robots at its Tennessee plant and Changwon smart factory, eventually extending their use to household applications as safety technologies improve.

In addition to actuators, LG is significantly expanding its B2B appliance business. Over the past three years, both its built-in appliance and commercial laundry divisions have experienced annual revenue growth exceeding 40%. In Europe, LG is bolstering its sales force specializing in these products, widening its premium built-in brand offerings, and aims to increase its product displays to 3,000 outlets by the end of the year.

To further strengthen its position in the commercial laundry sector, LG is introducing larger-capacity machines and expanding its partnerships across Southeast Asia. In Europe, LG is promoting high-efficiency appliances as part of its strategy to become a leading home appliance company in the region by 2030.
