The US military conducted new strikes targeting assets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to US officials, these actions were a direct response to Iran’s attempts to disrupt commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and threats posed to American personnel.
Iran retaliated with missile and drone assaults aimed at US interests in several regional countries, including Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq. Jordan’s armed forces reported intercepting 10 ballistic missiles launched from Iran, while three others landed in uninhabited areas. Despite the attacks, no immediate casualties or direct hits on the US military training facility were confirmed. Additionally, Iran claimed it targeted a US base near Erbil in Iraq, and missile and drone activities were noted in Kuwait, causing air-raid sirens to sound in Bahrain.
This latest exchange has amplified concerns over the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for global oil transportation. The tensions have already caused oil prices to climb, and Iran has issued warnings that it might obstruct oil exports from the Gulf if the US amplifies military or economic pressures. Iranian authorities condemned the US strikes and promised a response. President Masoud Pezeshkian declared Tehran’s readiness to reciprocate should Washington fail to honor commitments made under a previous agreement intended to halt hostilities.

US President Donald Trump has indicated that any additional Iranian attacks would be met with a significantly more forceful response. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have asserted that Tehran will utilize both military and diplomatic channels to safeguard its interests.
