South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has called for enhanced economic collaboration with Japan, focusing on fortifying supply chains in advanced industries as a response to global economic uncertainties. Lee articulated this vision during a meeting in Seoul with a Japanese business delegation, spearheaded by Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of the Japan Business Federation.
During the meeting, Lee underscored the significant role that business communities in both South Korea and Japan play in driving economic growth. He advocated for expanding bilateral cooperation through a proactive and forward-looking approach. Lee also highlighted the importance of strengthening business partnerships, fostering people-to-people exchanges, and enhancing diplomatic engagement between the two nations. He suggested that improving public perceptions could lead to more opportunities for economic collaboration.
Echoing Lee’s sentiments, Tsutsui emphasized the necessity of collaboration among countries with shared values to tackle global economic challenges. He affirmed that businesses from Japan and South Korea would continue to work together to address these issues.
