LG Electronics has achieved a record-breaking second-quarter performance, largely fueled by increased demand for its home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems. The company announced a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won, equivalent to $1.04 billion, marking a substantial 146.9% rise from the previous year. Additionally, revenue surged 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market predictions.
Throughout the first half of the year, LG’s revenue hit 47.56 trillion won, with an operating profit of 3.25 trillion won, both figures representing new highs for the company. These achievements were bolstered by heightened sales across major sectors, enhanced cost efficiency, the expansion of subscription services, growth in webOS, and a boost in online sales.
The company’s home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC segments emerged as significant growth contributors. The demand for premium home appliances, automotive infotainment systems, and cooling solutions saw an uptick, especially in Europe, where recent heatwaves intensified the need for cooling products.
In addition to its strong performance, LG emphasized its ongoing commitment to investing in future growth areas. This includes developing AI data center cooling technologies and advanced robotics components, positioning the company for continued success in the evolving technology landscape.
