Thailand clinched the bronze medal in women’s volleyball at the 20th Asian Games, held in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with a commanding 3-0 victory over South Korea. The match, played at Park Arena Komaki on Tuesday, saw Thailand triumph with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23.
This victory marks Thailand’s fourth consecutive medal in women’s volleyball at the Asian Games, adding another bronze to their collection following similar achievements in 2014 and 2022, and a silver in 2018. The win also secured Thailand’s qualification for the women’s volleyball tournament at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
South Korea initially took charge in the opening set, but Thailand quickly turned the tide with effective offensive strategies and powerful serves, eventually taking the set 25-20. The second set saw a competitive start with South Korea leading 11-9, but Thailand swiftly regained momentum and closed the set at 25-19.
The third set was a closely contested affair, with South Korea once again leading early. However, Thailand managed to equalize at 12-12, and the teams remained neck-and-neck until the final moments. Thailand reached match point at 24-23 and sealed their victory following a crucial error by South Korea.
