Top sources have indicated that a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module is suspected in the deadly Delhi blast, an incident that has drawn strong condemnation from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The attack near the Red Fort killed eight and injured several others.
Netanyahu reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a message of “sorrow and strength.” He emphasized that “Israel stands strong with you” and offered “deepest condolences” from himself and his wife, Sara, to the families of the victims.
The Israeli leader’s statement focused on shared resilience in the face of terrorism. “India and Israel are ancient civilisations that stand on eternal truths,” he said. “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls.”
The investigation into the attack has been formally handed to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The NIA has formed a “dedicated and comprehensive” investigation team to probe the attack, which is being treated as a “terrorist attack executed by a Jaish-e-Mohammad module.”
The team, supervised by senior officers, is coordinating with other central and state security units. They will investigate several angles, including “whether the explosion was intentional or accidental,” though the terror link is the primary focus of the high-level probe.
